1

Colin and Graham agreed to compose a letter from LCAF and BFC to Thames Water, as this type of joint approach would hold more weight.

Email sent by Colin to Rosemary Waugh who is Head of Corporate Responsibility at Thames Water. This has resulted in renewed contact from key people in Thames Water which will hopefully result in renewed progress. Colin to give an update at the meeting.

2

The stiles on Crowthorne FP 8 need to be removed as they are not accessible.  Graham and Colin would compose a letter to the NHS Trust.

It’s been difficult trying to get hold of anyone from the NHS Trust, but we’ve now secured a new point of contact.

To carry this action forward.

3

The detail of any requests to permanently change the route (Winkfield FP19 diversion) should be presented to the Forum for review.

Graham to keep members updated.

4

Finalise Multi-user path sign

Final proof of signs agreed between all partners. David to give an update at the meeting.

5

Graham to keep members updated about developments in Warfield on the east end of the greenway.

Applications are still in the pre-app and outline stages. As soon as there are further developments on this matter, these will be presented to the forum by P&C officers, so the forum can provide consultation advice.

6

Rose to send a link to members where they can sign up to the newsletter should they so wish.

The Parks and Countryside newsletters are published on the council’s website, where you can also sign up to subscribe to updates from the council.

7

Chris/Rose to provide an update on the progress made with removing/replacing the deteriorating boardwalks at Wildmoor Heath, which are also public footpaths.

BBOWT have submitted a grant bid to one of the landfill community funds. The proposal is for BFC and BBOWT to match fund 50% of the project cost to remove the old boardwalk and install raised paths and new boardwalks in its place. The benefits are that the new boardwalk will be made of recycled plastic (so no rotting) and the raised paths will create more wetland habitat in the area. We anticipate that this will be done in the autumn of this year.

8

BFC to issue a press release about the Savernake Park improvement project.

Press release was issued and can be viewed on BFCs website: A makeover for Savernake Park.

9

Graham needed to go back to do a site inspection of the major works to Piglittle Field as it should be nearly completed.  Richard Mosses pointed out that one section had a narrow estate road with no FP along it.  Graham agreed to check on that.  Richard added that it was still blocked off at the northern end – Binfield FP11. Graham would check on that as well.

The regrading works to part of the Piglittle Field SANG are complete in terms of the bulk movement of subsoil, but the final grading, decompaction and re-seeding of wildflower meadow mix will be completed in April.  A reasonable level of vegetation cover is expected by mid-summer, subject to weather conditions.  The footpath is unfortunately now embedded in adoptable highway through the development.  The recreational path through the woodland buffer (in public open space) will provide an alternative walking route with a more rural feel, but the developer has refused to have it dedicated as a public right of way.

10

Richard Mosses explained that Mosses Path in Binfield, was a permitted path, but requested to make it a PRoW and a bridleway.  The path was on land owned by BFC which has been leased to a football club.  Colin would add this to the list of proposals to make a PRoW (the list included Horseshoe Lake, Trilakes, and Ambarrow Hill).

Done. See Appendix 2.

11

Regarding walking routes on the BFC website, Rose reported that there had been feedback from the public that a map would have been helpful for one of the routes.  Rose felt this would be a good opportunity to review all the maps and routes to ensure they were correct and may ask members of the Forum to help.

To carry forward.
